Default stainless sink & faucet material

I am buying a new stainless steel undermount sink and was told by one dealer
that the brushed nickel faucet, that I like, isn't the right "shade" to
match the sink, that it is too "yellow". Does anyone have an ideas on this?
Thanks for any advice! I was thinking that a brushed finish would be
nice, not only for the way it looks, but easier to keep clean- looking. Sis

I think you'd have to see them together. Not all SS looks alike.

Exactly. Nickel is a much warmer color that chrome or stainless. If you
like the two metals together, then get the combination. My guess is that
the dealer had someone complain and/or return something because of the
discrepancy in color and was alerting the OP so as to avoid any problems,
i.e., CYA

Thanks. Can anyone give me ideas on their material choices of the
faucet/sink? I also think the bronze faucet is nice looking, but I think it
only goes well with a certain type of sink materials. There are so many
choices now. They even have sinks with or without a reveal, which years ago I
never heard of. Sis

I just did my kitchen and found that the combination of an Elkay Lustertone
stainless sink
http://www.elkayusa.com/catalog/sink...product_id=236
and a Delta Saxony stainless Brilliance faucet
http://tinyurl.com/5xee5

complemented each other very nicely and went well with my granite counter.
They are by no means identical in finish , the faucet is grayer and smoother
than the sink but they look good together, I like the contrast.
As others said, you really have to go into a showroom and look at the
various combinations, but my point is that rather than matching the items,
choosing ones that differ somewhat in tone might actually be better.

We went without the reveal, it seemed like just another dirt trap so we
skipped it.

But it doesn't appear to have a one hole version. With an undermounted sink
only a one hole faucet would look right.

This faucet, along with most single control faucets, requires only one
mounting hole. Use of the escutcheon, or deck plate, is optional (as shown
in the photo).

Providing an escutcheon of this type for a single control faucet was meant
for use where the sink has 2-3 holes and you need to cover them up.

Exactly, I installed this faucet with an undermounted sink and they provide
a small cover to switch for the large one, and it mounts in one hole. The
small base looks just like the one on the soap dispenser in the
picture...click on parts and accessories to see a drawing of it.
The only problem I had was that the hole clearance was very tight, the hole
in the granite was a tiny bit undersize and I had to do a lot of tinkering,
grinding a bit of the faucet bracket away before I could make the pull out
spout slide smoothly in and out. But it worked out fine at the end.
