Default fudge debacle

Hi all !!! I am new and this is my first post. Just have a quick question about fudge. What I am wondering is if I messed up and overcooked the fudge a little does anyone think it would be ok if I basically took the result and kinda reworked the mixture by forming balls about the size of a truffle and then rolled in cocoa powder to try and salvage my mistake? All ideas are welcome :-)
