Well, guys, my 5 day hometime is up and it's time for me to get back to
work. It has been interesting reading over the last few days....and catching up with the 21 days worth of posts from when I was gone this last time. I'll be back home on the 20th for the holidays. Caleb will be home on leave (he is now a 1st Lieutenant, a Ranger, and is stationed for the time being at Ft. Carson). His Battalion ships over to Afghanistan this coming March, so this Christmas will be a special time for me and Jill. I hope to stay dispatched along the I-40 and I-10 corridor, so if I will be shut down for a period of time I will do a shout-out to see who might be near by. -- Dave Bugg "For it's 'guns this' and 'guns that', and 'chuck 'em out, the brutes', But they're the 'Savior of our loved ones' when the thugs begin to loot." - Rudyard Kipling |

Your message is upbeat. How many miles will you go in the next 17 days? How many miles and hours a day do you have to drive to accomplish this? Do you have to drive longer than 8-10 hours? Do you ever take a "day off"?, or can you take a day off? Do you always sleep in the truck? Isn't there some way you can have computer access while on route? An i-pod? A friend of mine has one and is on the internet all the time. Happy Holiday to you and family, Kent |

I think you need to subscribe to "Dave's Life". It's a subscription service that only costs $14.95/month and allows up to 25 questions, with a 7-day response time guarantee. If you'd like to subscribe, see: http://daveslife.com/ Be patient, the site has been very active due to paid member activity and the severe cold and sow in the Mid-west and Northeast United states slows down data traffic since the lines are frozen. if you can't get through, please try again later. ObBBQ: I have two small racks of spares (3.5 down) that I'll probably smoke today. I also have a pork butt but I'm not sure what I want to do with that yet. Maybe I'll make a butt ham (no questions about that, Kent). Or look through my new book "Cured" for some ideas. -sw |

No garage-brine though. As you know, the temp shot up 40-50 degrees in the last 36 hours. What does Kent think I should do? -sw |
