Default Nexgrill vs Charbroil

My wife gave me $600 to buy a grill for my birthday. I have narrowed it
down to 2 choices:



CHOICE 1: STAINLESS STEEL NEXGRILL

896" cooking surface

48,000 BTU stainless steel main burners (5 total)

12,000 BTU side burner

5 stainless steel flame tamers

Rotisserie kit included

Cast iron grill plates

Price: $549 at Target



CHOICE 2: COMMERCIAL CHAR-BROIL

815" cooking surface

53,000 BTU cast brass main burners (4 total) lifetime warranty on burners

10,000 BTU side burner

Porcelain grill plates

(Flame tamers not included- never had these, are they desirable?)

(Rotisserie kit not included- would I ever really use this?)

Price: $499 at Lowes



Questions:

Is one a better made grill than the other?

What are the pros/cons of porcelain vs. cast iron?

How do the stainless steel burners hold up compared to the cast brass?

Are the flame tamers really desirable?

Which of these 2 would you choose if you were buying and why?

Default Nexgrill vs Charbroil

Neither, I'd go for a Weber. speaking form experience of buying flash over substance when I needed/wanted a newer larger unit. I got one of the flashy stainless imports. Guess what? It's sitting on my deck unused for the last month + because when it's cold or windy it's useless. Instead I keep falling back to my trusty old used/abused Genesis II. $$ for $$ you won't find anything that cooks better. I will say the SS unit looks nice on my deck though ;-)

Default Nexgrill vs Charbroil

First, Weber is a safer choice - known good quality, well liked by
owners, etc. I also like the Sears Elite series.

Now, as for your choices

Brass, followed by cast iron, burners are better than steel.
I never use my side burner, although I know some who do.
Cast iron grills give better grill marks than porcelain or SS.
Cast iron grills are more brittle than the others (dropping can be
dangerous)

Rotisserie is good, depending on how much weight the skewer and motor
will handle. If the unit has the back infrared burner, then you can do
proper spit roasting. Other than that, on most gas grills the skewer
isn't heavy enough and supports are too close to cook anything bigger
than a capon or small leg of lamb.
