Default crab vs. regular apple

Has anyone noticed any flavor difference between crab and regular apple wood?

Thanks,

>Yes. Crab has a distinctive "fishy" flavor, simular to lobster.

I had two five gallon buckets of Crab Apple and Apple chunks from a
tree trimming. I was useing one or the other and never could tell the
difference, so combine the two together and it is mild and sweet with
a great flavor.

I haven't used enough regular apple wood to be an authority, but in my
limited experience with regular apple, crabapple wood is the same as regular
apple wood.

I have used a lot of crabapple, and it's great. Plus, the dang trees grow so
fast they're a great source of cheap wood.
