Default HK Palace in Fairfax

Well, this may be of only local interest, but I ate last night at Hong
Kong Palace in 7 Corners, Falls Church, VA. Its actually a Sechuan
restaurant, with a cook who trained in Chengdu, and the food is pretty
good. (See http://hongkongpalacerestaurant.com/index.html )

We had Chengdu Cold Noodles, fried dumplings, Cold Jelly Fish Salad,
Twice-cooked Pork with Black Bean sauce, Cumin Ribs, Fried Chicken with
dried red peppers, Shredded Chicken with preserved Chinese vegetables,
and Kung Pao Chicken.

The Kung Pao was tasty, but probably the least satisfying (to me) of the
bunch, as it lacked the vinegary bite I expected. Other than that,
everything was really good, and my table of six (none of my friends had
been there before) was very enthusiastic about the place. With 2 or 3
beers and a soda o the tab, we spent about $16 each.

Tyler Cowan has written about the place

and chowhound.com has some user reports.

I'm just glad to have such a great place in my area, and hope it
generates enough support to stay in business. It seems to be doing quite
well so far.

Cheers,

Ian
