Some suggestions...

- Chicken soup, or avgolemono or the similar chikhirtma, or egg-drop
soup
- Mushroom broth with potatoes and barley

- Pot pie
- Risotto of some kind
- Pasta with mushroom sauce
- Meatballs (of the kind that are cooked in broth rather than fried)
with mashed potatoes

- Cranberry (or some other) fool
- Syllabub
