Orange-Poppy Seed Scones
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup poppy seeds
1 teaspoon cream tartar
3/4 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup orange juice
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel
Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Combine and add orange
juice, egg and peel. Pat into 9-inch diameter circle on greased
sheet. Cut wedges. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes.
