Default Tennessee barbecue

Spent Thursday through Sunday in Tennessee for a gathering of about a
hundred or so Harley riders. One day, decided to visit a neighboring town
for some barbecue. Asked around, and ate at "The Corner Barbecue." And
that's just what it was, a little joint on a corner. This one was
uncharacteristically very clean inside, formica tables, white linoleum
floors. They also sold breakfast, and on the lunch menu was also hot dogs
and hamburgers.

The only kind of barbecue they had was pork. No brisket. I had a pulled pork
sandwich plate, which was, as you'd expect, the sandwich with cole slaw and
beans. The sauce was exactly what you'd expect in a Tennessee joint - kinda
sweet and tangy, a little thinner than the Kansas City style, a little less
tomatoey than the St. Louis style.

In other words, just what you'd expect from a Tennessee barbecue joint.
Outside in the back was the big stack of hickory logs, which is the only
fuel they use. It was good, but not great. Just a tad on the dry side.

Mine's better, of course
