Default Week-end survey on the RFC site: Eating in bed

Well, I voted "always" for all questions.
Since when I'm at home I always eat in bed
except for the very rare occasions that I have
company. So the answer is closer to always than
to "fairly often".

As mentioned in the past, I live alone and I
like to eat watching tv for company and since
the tv is in the bedroom I always eat in bed.

If I have dinner guests, of course, I join them
at the dining room table rather than take my food
upstairs on a tray to eat in bed while watching
tv and leaving them to their own devices downstairs
or inviting them to join me in bed. It just wouldn't
be very comfortable with more than one person, me,
and perhaps 1 or 2 cats in the bed.

If I have houseguests I also eat with them at the
kitchen or dining room table for the same reasons.
Of course, if they wanted to eat in their room then
I would probably revert to my solitary habit of eating
in bed. However houseguests are unlikely to want to eat
in their room as the only tv is in my room so they would
become quite bored. I guess they could read a book while
eating in their room but it's harder to eat reading a
book as one has to hold the book in one hand and then
one is left with only one hand with which to eat which
makes eating somewhat difficult in many cases, say, eating
fried chicken, f'rinstance, as it takes 2 hands to eat
fried chicken. And then you get the book all greasy which
is okay if it's their book, but if it's my book or a library
book, well, it's just plain rude to get it all greasy.

Anyway, the only other times I don't eat in bed watching
tv are when I eat out at a restaurant, which unfortunately
is not as often as I'd like due to financial constraints.
Although, I think it would be nice to have restaurants with
beds and tvs so that one could go out to eat at a restaurant
and still be able to eat in bed while watching tv.
