Dump Cake

1 20-ounce can crushed unsweetened pineapple, not drained.
1 cup chopped nuts
11/2 sticks butter or margarine
1 20-ounce can cherry pie filling
1 package yellow cake mix

In an ungreased 8- by 13-inch pan, spread crushed pineapple with juice
to cover the entire bottom of the pan. On top of pineapple, add the can
of cherry pie filling. Sprinkle cake mix on top of cherry layer. Thinly
slice butter lengthwise, and place on top of cake mix layer. Top with
chopped nuts. Bake at 350 F about 60 minutes. Let set 3 hours before
serving. As oven temperatures vary, check this cake before it his baked
a full hour.
