I saw that Paula Dean episode too. Her recipe is similar to mine.
I made them last night and did end up putting some peanut butter in
the filling. I brought one to work to enjoy as an afternoon snack.

There is also a company in Maine, I think, called Wicked Whoopies.
They make several different flavored whoopie pies like pumpkin and
mint and maple.
