Before I got a small rice cooker, I used my microwave to cook rice. I did a
good job and no pot to wash I served from the microwave safe plastic
container. Microwaves are also good for cooking veggies like corn nibblets
etc, peas, french cut green beans and I've heard they cook squah nicely
too..
