Default a hydrometer is not necessary?

Asking only in theory.

I am not interested in getting the most alcohol out of my wine.
I am not interested in finding out the potential alcohol in my wine.
I plan on keeping my wine in my secondary long after the yeast is
finished.

do I need to use my hydrometer?
