Barbecued Short Ribs
Place in roaster and brown well:
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup shortening
2 or so pounds beef-short ribs--cut in serving size pieces
combine and pour over ribs:
1 cup water
salt & pepper--to taste
pinch dried red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp tabasco sauce
1 Tbsp vinegar
1/2 cup catsup
1 Tbsp sugar
1 med onion minced
2 stk celery chopped
add additional water when baking to cover ribs. cover and bake 350 f. for
2
to 3 hours. add during the last 1/2 hour:
potatoes
carrots
Short ribs may be pressure cooked 15 pounds pressure for 45-50 minutes.
(We like this with more spice - a bit more tabasco sauce, pepper & dried
crushed red peppers. . . . and with the dogs are hanging around the
kitchen
into less than an hour of cooking one can truly say this is a tested and
