I got the Farberware "Stylus" set at Amazon for about $80
(http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I6R02M/). The frying pans are aluminum,
but a bunch of reasonable-quality, fairly light, stainless steel,
induction-capable pans for that kind of price is hard to find. Saw some
similar (though heavier) stuff at Ikea yesterday...

I'd still get myself a cheap (< $100) countertop induction burner with
a shutoff timer, though. And probably a Kuhn-Rikon Pressure Cooker
(wow, those prices have gone up since I bought one!), with the money
you saved by not buying the equivalent All-Clad set.
