I have 2 dogs also and my older one stopped eating when the new gal came.
Found out she didn't like being stared at by the youngster while she ate.
hahaha. I still have a baby gate from when my kids were little. So, I pull
the gate closed and the old gal eats in peace. At least that's how it
worked a few days ago.
