Onion Gravy
1 med onion
1/8 cup (1/4 stick) butter
one or two cartons heavy whipping cream
salt and pepper to taste
Chop onion into small or med chunks, saute in butter until transparent and
taking on a golden color. Add cream to this and let cook on med-low. Will
thicken the longer you let it cook. (I use 1 to 1 1/2 cartons of cream.)
This was a favorite when I was growing up, served over new potates.
