I'd take off the feet (who needs 'em?), sand the top by
hand to remove the existing knife marks, wipe it all over
with cutting board oil (food grade mineral oil), toss it
in the oven at 200F for a few minutes to make sure it's
sterile, wipe off any excess oil with a paper towel,
and prepare to develop pride in ownership from then onward.
