That was a one off in Philly. Usually I got the polite thanks but no
thanks. I had the real problems with those who were polite enough, but then
had to explain how the 'higher ups' wanted them to hire more of 'those
people' -wink wink nudge nudge.

Believe it or not, I have met more prejudice in the Allentown area than I
did in Philly. All the Pennsylvania Dutchies around here are soo
condescending. I was shopping in a farmer's market when I was asked if all
southerners were uneducated, inbred, etc. I bit my tongue, but felt like
asking them were they aware that the Pennsylvania Dutch are those who have
an actual condition called 'Maple Syrup disease' exclusive to their
community resulting from inbreeding. Somehow, I just got the feeling that
it would have fallen on deaf ears and just let it lie.
