Seems that the appearance of being happily married and settled meant a lot to him-
he relied on it to lend some credibility to his ranting. Couldn't lose face after that.

It wasn't a good time, I'll say that, and not just because of that.. At the end of the
day it was really just as well, as I had to go to England quite regularly and needed
someone here to look after the place whilst I was gone. A reason for everything..
