Maybe it had some thermal sensor that turned it off, but if left plugged in,
the sensor would cool and it would turn itself back on. I have a coffee
percolator that has that kind of issue. When first plugged in, the brew
heater comes on and when finished the brew heater goes off and the keep warm
heater goes on. Left plugged in long enough, it will cool to the point where
the brew heater will kick back in. Not good, particularly if you didn't
remove the basket and perk tube. It starts perking all over again.
