Don't know what sort of 'rice' you use over there in Texas, but we
(Aussies) never seem to have a problem with our brown rice....... apart
from leaving it on too long and burning it!!

I've cooked brown rice on the stove top and in the microwave (in a rice
cooker) and it's always come out fine.

Where, exactly, does your brown rice come from?
