I've had this range for about 4 years and am pleased with it overall.
It does take a while to preheat the oven but it's always ready by the time
the cake is mixed. Baking is very accurate.
The top of my range still looks new and it gets a *lot* of use by teenage
sons and DH and myself. There are few
things I am brand loyal to but ceran top cleaner is one--I always use
Weiman. It's the only one I've
found that really works. All ceran ranges are cleanable with a blade. I use
a wide paint scraping razor blade from Wal-Mart.
Quick and easy. Weiman's also leaves a protective layer on the glass when
wiped dry. The stainless finish is very easy to clean and
does not show fingerprints.
We have never had a need for service. It does need reset after a power
outage. Reset after a short outage needs only to push
the "clear" button on the control panel. Longer outages require a reset of
the breaker. The range will also need reset
if too much steam comes in contact with the control panel. I have learned to
boil water on the front burners only. No big deal.
The burners heat up very quickly and boil water very very fast. I use the
bridge and warmer burners a lot
and they work beautifully. What I don't like--I also have debris between the
glass in the door and am going to have to take
the door apart to clean it. There are screws on the edge to do this. The
self cleaning setting gets very hot--too hot, and I don't use it.
I just wipe up spills right away. I much prefer a continuous clean oven but
they are getting real hard to find. Cooking with convection requires
close attention, especially cookies. Most recipes should be set 25 degrees
lower than standard baking. Hope this helps.
