Well, I don't ever put berries in it, as they say you can.
But even if I "quick rinse in clean cold water to remove the residue" there
still remains the fact that this spinner top is not like my other ones, it
seems to have -- even though open -- a more contained housing which would be
more conducive to retaining water in it. That is my question: it doesn't
seem like a good idea to me to not be able to dry this out; and less of a
good idea to me if the water is water from lettuce that might have not been
washed well enough for the e coli or whatever germs to multiply. But still,
that is not my point -- I'm wondering about the drying out of the
mechanism -- I guess it's OK, because Cook's Illustrated still rates it at
the top of the heap.
