give a link to some other page), but the word "pet" appears a good half
a dozen times, and the word "pet" or "pets" appears all over the
society's home page, and "companion animal" doesn't appear on the home
page even once.

Conclusion: in general, the humane society of Dubuque refers to pets
as pets. They use good English. You should emulate them, Karen.
