Ah, but there *is* a way to save the pot: washing soda. Not baking soda,
washing soda. Most grocery stores have it on the same aisle as laundry
detergent. Fill the pot with enough hot water to cover the scorched area, and
add washing soda at the rate of about 1/4 cup per quart of water. Allow to
soak overnight. Most of the crud will rinse away. Repeat if needed.
