I tend to prefer canned beans for soups unless I'm making what is
*primarily* bean soup (like navy bean soup); then I'll go with the dried
ones. But as an addition to other things where a pot of beans isn't the
sole intent, canned works for me and is less time consuming. I do rinse
canned beans before adding them to other things as they tend to be a bit
salty.
