Where's that? In Europe Absinth has been legal again ever since 1998.
It's legal because the amount of thujon (the stuff that causes serious
intoxication) has been reduced.

How quickly you get drunk depends on how much alcohol the Absinth in
question contains. I think you get Absinths starting with 51 or so vol %
up to maybe 76 vol %.
