Sharon, have you considered reformatting the computer? There isn't any
reason to buy a new one when it sounds like you got some weird bug in your
current one or your Windows Registry is corrupted. Reformatting would mean
wiping the drive clean and restoring it back to factory settings. If you
bought the machine new from a major manufacturer, there should be some
system restore disks that came with your system. You just have to back-up
your important information to CD or something and then wipe it clean. It
runs so much faster when you do this, too!
