I took a last look at my painting show this afternoon (Everybody sing:
"The party's over...") and didn't get back till pretty late. Ergo
late dinner.

I have Brussels sprouts in the oven with Dijon mustard and soy sauce
and olive oil. I'm about to zap some frozen broccoli stems and pieces
with oil and soy. Out on the gas grill I have a whole chicken going.
I stuffed fresh basil under the skin along with a
garlic/chipotle/lemon paste I had left from last night's dinner.

The chicken came with two livers and a heart which I simmered till
they were done: Category 5 dog snax! I have to bribe the dachshund to
pee outside these days. It's not so bad except when she takes a dump
next to the grill.
