Isn't that the truth. I got a nice bag of smoking chips and followed
the instructions for making smoke packets. Then I put a nice roast
already rubbed and ready to go on the bbq. The smoking chips smelled
wonderful "everywhere" but in the bbq. The roast was ok but
considerably drier than my normal roast done on the bbq. My next
attempt using smoking chips was with chicken. Again the bbq smelled
wonderful but no extra flavour in the dried out chicken. I'm back to
cooking chicken and roasts my regular way and have given up on the
smoking chips. Perhaps I should have used the patch instead
