Default Bern's Steak House - Dessert Room - Tampa, Florida

Well, well, well... guess where I went tonight (hint - see the subject line.
LOL)?

Tonight, as a special treat, I was invited to go for Dessert at Berns'.
WOW. Far more decadent and delicious than I expected.

After a spiritually enlightening day with Anne Graham Lotz (An amazing and
absolutely incredible woman!!) I was asked if I wanted to go to Berns... We
arrived at 5:45 which is 15 minutes before the dessert room opens. No
problem there as we were quite content to sit in their lounge. Mom had a
Pinot Grigio (sp?) and I had a glass of Merlot. She really like hers and
mine was good... it was complex and a bit young... but good. Then we were
advised that the dessert room was ready. Upon being greeted and seated the
server was quick to ask if we were returning guests or new... Mom was
returning and I was the newbie... he explained the menu (42 pages of wines
and spirits, 1 of coffees and 2 of desserts!) and the signature coffees and
desserts. Mom had their prized Macadamia ice cream with the amazing
chocolate sauce (Vohlora...sp?) and I had the Grand Marnier Chocolate Mousse
with the chocolate bag.... Oooooooooooooo, ahhhhhhhhhhhh, wow...wow...WOW!!
Oh, and we also had coffee with praline liquor. Major yum!! Life is sweet
and very, very delicious! I'm still full 4 hours later.

Side note, our server, Ross, noted that it took the restaurant nearly 7
years and 300 recipe/versions before they perfected their Macadamia ice
cream. I'm here to tell you... he was right - it IS perfect! I can have a
mouth-gasm right now, just thinking about it. Holy schmolies was it
wonderful.

Today was a great day to be alive.
