Have you explored the regs at all? Carrying a raw chicken or a bottle
of booze is probably verboten, but if you haven't already, I would
check the status of a cooked dish and prepared drink-with-wine.
As for other suggestions, a platter of crudités with dip(s) is usually
welcome. In fact, veg dishes of any kind are usually sparse in group
situations. Quiche is easy to transport and versatile. A selection of
bread or rolls, maybe? And of course, any desert item.
