1995 and 1997 are both classified as excellent vintages, such as 1998
and 2000. However, being in Italy, I would say that generally speaking
1997 and 2000 were quite hot summers, originatin bold wines... adding
to Amarone's boldness...
Among other producers in the mid-price range, I like Roberto Mazzi,
while I would avoid Speri. Clearly top Amarone names would be
Quintarelli, Dal Forno and so on...
