Default Restaurant Review

The boss and I wanted to find a new restaurant for lunch yesterday and
chose Tommy Bahama's in Newport Beach, near the office, at Avocado and
PCH.

Note to self: never *ever* choose a restaurant run by and contiguous
with a clothing "purveyor." The food was mediocre at best and *way*
overpriced (about a 6 oz. piece of mahi mahi and 5 asparagus spears
was $34, for instance). I don't mind paying a good price for food, but
it irritates be beyond redemption not to get at least *some* value for
the $$$.

The entire wait staff was wearing Tommy Bahama, which wasn't
surprising - just silly, but it also seemed a ridiculous percentage of
the clientele was also wearing Tommy Bahama. What was actually
hilarious was my boss was wearing a Tommy Bahama shirt and we only
decided on this restaurant when the new one we *wanted* to try turned
out only to serve dinner, so we had to make alternate plans and TB was
close.

"If the soup had been as hot as the claret, if the claret had been as
old as the bird, and if the bird's breasts had been as full as the
waitress's, it would have been a very good dinner."
