I got this recipe off of another yahoo recipe group that i am on. I
copied it the way it was on the e-mail to give credit to who sent it
through.
Hi all--
I made these yesterday...they were ok, but awfully dry. When I was
typing up the recipe today I think I might have discovered why they
were so dry. When I was mixing the dry ingredients it didn't mention
mixing in the milk...I was thinking nonfat DRY milk, so I just added
it in. When I looked again at the recipe it calls for 1/4 cup nonfat
milk (NOT DRY milk). So with that stated, I may try them again....so
if you try this recipe, make sure you use liquid milk, not dry!!
Other than that, they were very tasty!
Hugs,
Peg
On-The-Go-Snack Bars
1-1/3 cups flour
1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup Splenda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 cup nonfat milk
1/2 cup applesauce
1 egg
1 egg white
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup mashed bananas
1 tsp. vanilla
Stir together flour, oats, Splenda, baking powder, baking soda,
cinnamon and nutmeg. Add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
Spread batter evenly in a non-stick 9x13-inch baking pan or spray pan
with cooking spray. Bake at 350 until bars are golden brown and just
begins to pull away from pan sides, about 35-40 minutes. Serve warm
or cool, cut into 2 inch squares.
To store---wrap each bar tightly with plastic wrap and keep frozen
for use as needed.
