TN: New friends, new wines, a few old favorites
Jim,
I'll write up notes once I get some sleep, but let me thank you now for
your efforts setting this up- great night! You picked a great place-
food was very good- and I know corkage/BYO isn't normally an option in
Japan. So thanks for your work (and for gathering such a nice group!).
My opinions and yours were pretty close on most wines - look for notes
soon.
Emery,
I'm guessing some travel shock might have hurt the Meyney. Travel shock
was main reason I went with a Bordeaux over a Burgundy(I've had bad
luck ttransporting Burgs). I thought that (with 4 days rest for
sediment) that the Meyney was young enough to do ok. But without
decanting facilities in room, I'm sure there was some disturbance as we
trained over.
