I'm not a big fan of merlot. Despite much protestation from others in
this group.

Where abouts are you?

There is plenty of bargains to be had.

If you are looking for a budget easy drinking wine you can keep for a
couple of months after opening, try a few casks. Or try cleanskins /
liquidation sales, where you can pick up stuff in bulk for much less
than normal price, and taste before you buy.
