I always make them from scratch using the Better Homes and Gardens recipe,
and they always turn out. The dough should be pressed out until it is
about 3/4" thick and then cut with a biscuit cutter without turning. Cook
them at 450 for 12-14 minutes. Cook them on a metal baking pan, not in
pyrex. If you want them to be soft, cook them together, but if you want
them to be crusty and flaky place them far enough apart on the baking pant
that they won't touch while cooking.
