This is a recipe my mother found in a Woman's Day magazine in the early
50's.
The Pecan Pie
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup syrup-see note below
2 eggs
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp butter
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
1 unbaked pie shell-the smaller size is ok
Mix the first 6 ingredients, but you don't need to use an electric mixer
Put nuts in the bottom of the unbaked piecrust. Pour mix into crust. Bake
at 300 degrees for 1 hour
NOTE: We have always used Bob White Golden, but I am sure it is not
available everywhere. It is mid-tone in flavor and color, not dark like
some and certainly not clear, so therefore a mid tone taste.
