My brother in Lennox Head wrote me that he's having brunch on the beach with
most of his community. He wrote that later, his wife and mother-in-law would
put together the "traditional" dinner, but he didn't go into specifics about
what would comprise that dinner. (If Christmas fell in summertime for me,
I'd seriously consider making kalua pork on that day.)
There won't be any Christmas feast for me; I'm working all night Christmas
Eve, and as soon as I get off work I'll be delivering presents to my
girlfriend's house. (I don't know if the little one will be awake that hour
or not. It'll be about 7 AM, but it's been cold and foggy here, so maybe
he'll sleep late.) As soon as I drop off the gifts, I'm going home to sleep
through the day, because I've got to be at work again in the late afternoon.
Such are the travails of a military contract.
