Ham Soup
1-2 lbs. great northern beans dry
1/2 onion chopped
dash of garlic powder
dash of crushed red pepper
1 bay leaf
1 hambone
Soak beans overnight covered in water. Drain. Cover with water again,
at least two inches above beans. Add spices, and hambone. Cook till it
boils, then turn down to simmer and cook until beans are tender. I use
my slowcooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
