Default Campfire Baked Beans

Campfire Baked Beans
by Freth

This recipe was thrown together one weekend during a camping trip. Me and
a few friends were at the grocery store looking for grub for that night at
the campground. We had no idea we would create the best darn baked bean
recipe ever. It's simple to make and full of flavor. I hope you enjoy
it.

2 28oz cans of Bush's "Onion" Baked Beans
1 16oz tube of Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage (any Hot breakfast sausage will
do)
1 medium white onion

Chop onion and set aside. Fry sausage and drain. Add beans, sausage and
onion to a medium/large sauce pan. Simmer until onions are done. Serve
beans in a bowl with Frito's scoops, or just eat them out of the bowl with
a spoon. I've cooked this recipe in a pan, on a campfire, in a skillet
and in a crock... it always turns out the same. The flavor is savory,
warm and unique. It has become an instant favorite amongst all of my
friends and is very addictive. Try it, I know you'll like it! NOTE:
Some people prefer frying onions with meat. I don't recommend this. I
prefer cooking the onions in the beans afterward---adds more flavor in my
opinion.
