They have TV's at all the County Jails and in the prisons
nationwide,m just not in holding cells and such.
They're usually tuned to the 24-Hour Jerry Springer Channel or
Univision. Some prisons allow you to have your own TV's in the
cell, but that's usually Level 3+ prisons and you're limited to OTA
channels (yeah, you don't have digital cable and streaming smart
TV's). And many of the prison are out in Podunk (not just in
Texas), so reception kinda sucks.
The communal TV's are usually hooked up to some central antenna amp
and generally get better OTA reception, but still no cable TV - You
can't have 50-200 inmates per TV and 200+ channels to choose from.
Yeah, uh, no.
