Stop deflecting. I've owned my car (bought new) since early 2003.
Aside from gasoline, in that time I've spent money only on routine
maintenance, new tires. I had a minor issue with the clutch a few years
ago; it was only in the shop 2 days and my insurance company paid for
the tow. I had a friend drive me over to pick it up when it was ready
and the bill was only about $300. One time someone hit my parked car in
a parking lot. I filed a claim with my insurance company; they had me
download an unwittnessed accident report form from the Sheriff's Dept.
website and email them a copy and they cut my deductible in half. So, I
paid $250 to have the body damage repaired and they paid for a rental
car while the work was being done.

Meanwhile, you keep hitting stuff (or you say someone did a hit & run)
and you're paying mega bucks out of pocket. Or you don't keep it
charged (what's your electric bill look like?) and then have to pay to
have it towed to a place that can recharge it from zero.

Let us not forget you still have that ancient "fartburner" van. A
gasoline powered vehicle suits you just fine every time you wreck your
precious Leaf. Hypocrite.
