Typically, I'll add some soy sauce and a little cornstarch and some salt and pepper. You can add other things such as ginger, garlic, oil, oyster sauce, even an egg, and baking soda. I don't feel the need to add that most times. I'll let the beef marinade for about 5 minutes. If fried at high temperature in oil until barely done, you should get a flavorful and tender beef.
