Those modern tools are pretty spiffy. My father had his gall bladder
removed back in 1962-63. He was in the hospital for two weeks and we
could not even see him for the first week. He had a scar more than a
foot long. My wife had hers our a few years before I did. She went to
the hospital at 6 am and I picked her up around 1 pm. I had mine out 7
years ago. I had to stay for three days because it had been a
particularly nasty gall blaldder. I have a scar about 1 1/2" long right
next to my navel and had three other small holes. One of them had a
drain hose leading to a little suction bulb that I had to have until it
stopped draining and I was released. Huge difference over 50 years.
