She made a good choice in the end.

I told my kids that if I ever re-marry their new step mom will at least
be as old as my youngest granddaughter.

My two best friends, one divorced, one a widow, have one trait we all
have in common. Don't want to marry again. A few times a year I travel
1200 miles to spend some time with one of them though. Works for us.
