on the colder winter days i have to wear a thick scarf
which preheats the air very nicely. my lungs hate it
otherwise.
Mom used to knit very thick rugs to use as cushions
for standing at the sink, using multiple strands of yarn
and large needles, they are very nice for doing anything
for very long.
one winter having gotten very sick of fighting the
scarf i was wearing always gettting tangled when i was
shovelling snow i asked her to make a few short round
scarfs with the ends tied together so that they would
fit exactly around my neck and face and i had her make
a few specially fitted so they could be put on over
each other to give yet another layer of insulation.
very warm and very useful.
i call them my foreskins. she made one for herself
she calls her playskin. we have a fun sense of humor
around here.
